RPK Parks Kit vs the Romanian AKM Parts Kit

One of our sponsors, Arms of America gave us the opportunity to review some AK47 parts kits. Here we review the Romanian RPK parts kit with a Romanian AKM (AK47) Parts Kit. . Both started life as military rifles, each were at some point removed from service and eventually chopped into parts, then shipped to the US and were sold by the guys at Arms of America (no longer available)

Romanian RPK 7.62x39 Parts Kit. In real good condition with wear and minor use marks on the furniture. Barrel is Chrome Lined Romanian AKM 7.62x39 Parts Kit. All matching numbers. This kit was hand picked to use to compare because it is in what looks like unused condition

Draco AK47 Pistol

Here is another AK47 pistol imported from Romania. This one is well made but fairly crude compared to other AK47s. It has a unique front sight post / gas block and a modified (short range) rear sight. While its finish is crude, its workmanship is solid and it looks to be a good shooter. (we did not get to test fire it however)

PSL / ROMAK 3

PSL are the letters for the words which mean semi-automatic rifle with scope in Romanian (Pusca Semiautomata cu Luneta) These are also called the ROMAK 3 (ROManian Avtomat Kalashnikov) The PSL has a stamped sheet metal receiver with reinforcement below the barrel trunion and in the rear (at circular cut-out) because of the strong recoil of the 7.62×54R round. The gas system is like an AK47 with its gas piston attached to the bolt carrier. These use a 5 or 10 round magazine and a 8×42 POSP scope

Romanian G kit by Landcaster Arms

We took some pictures of this Romanian G kit assembled by Landcaster Arms in Goodyear, AZ. These are popular AK47s. They are sold as Original Russian Red (or Blond) While they are not historically accurate, they are good shooteing AK47 and many people like their apperence.

WASR-10 and Yugo Krink

We had a chance to review and take pictures of a WASR-10 side by side with a Yugoslavian Krink AKS-47U (SBR). This is one of the least expensive and lowest quality AK47s next to one of the better quality

WASR-10 (High Cap & Low Cap)

We had a chance to review and take pictures of two WASR-10 side by side. A low cap version that can only accept the 10 round (low capacity) magazine and the more common ‘modified’ (High Capacity) rifle that can use any AK47 style magazine

WASR-10 (High Cap & Low Cap)

Two common (cheap) AK47s are the WASR-10 versions. They all start out the same actually. They all are imported as the low cap version, however most are converted to accept the large cap mags which are again legal throughout the country (minus a few places)

SAR-1

A standard imported AKM with a simple modification that makes it look great

This ordinary SAR-1 looks great with the Russian red dyed US made furniture On first glance this looks like a Russian AKM, Stock by Ironwood Designs and finished by Impact Global Arms in Tucson, AZ
